Betty Crocker...Maybe Not!

Last Thursday night, I thought I would be "Betty Crocker"! I was so excited! I got a new pasta recipe off of kraftfoods.com, so I thought I would try it. Also, Blake wanted me to make a cake, so we decided on a white cake with chocolate icing. Yummy! Well, the new pasta dinner was delicious, and, although the cake didn't look pretty (as you can see in the pictures above), it sure tasted good.

So, I have a question. How do you ice a cake without the icing smearing the top of the cake off? I was taking my time making sure I covered the entire cake, and then all of a sudden the top of the cake started smearing off into the icing! Does this happen to anyone else? Oh well...so much for being Betty Crocker. I am up for any pointers, though! I guess I will check with my mom, too. Her family owned a bakery! Happy Baking!
