Wow! I have been absent from the blogging world for quite awhile now! I really don't know why...I guess just the "busyness" of life has kept me away.
What an absolutely beautiful weekend we had here! I love the weekends anyway, because my husband is home, and we spend lots of family time together. Our weekend started off by Michael taking me out on a date! My parents watched the boys for us, and we headed off to dinner and a movie. Before dinner, though, we stopped at the hospital to visit my friend, Allison, who just had a beautiful baby girl. That was so much fun to fellowship with her and her husband, and I loved holding their new baby! She is so precious, and so tiny! I had forgotten how tiny newborns really are, and not to mention that it made Michael and I even more excited as we anticipate our baby being born in the fall!!! After our visit with Allison, David, and their baby, Michael and I headed off to Red Lobster. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner together...not having to order from the kid's menu, retrieve crayons off the floor, take little ones to the bathroom, etc... You get the picture! Michael got steak, and I got pasta! Everything from the salad to the cheese biscuits to our entree was delicious! After dinner we went to the theater to see "Baby Mama", and it was hilarious! We laughed throughout the entire movie! Thank you, Michael, for taking me out to dinner and a movie. I had so much fun...just me and you! Thank you, Mom and Dad, for watching the boys for us. They loved Charlie's Chicken and the "Snow Buddies" movie!!!
Saturday was a gorgeous day here. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Michael and I went and grabbed a "healthy" breakfast at QT, and then we went to pick up the boys. After picking them up, we visited some garage sales, but we were a little late. All of the good stuff seemed gone already. Then, we took the boys to Academy and bought Blake a new bike. Michael and I have been looking at bikes and pricing them for several weeks now, and Saturday was Blake's big day. We picked out a red Huffy bike with training wheels. It is a cool bike, and Blake has enjoyed riding it the past few days. Of course, we couldn't just buy Blake something, so Easton picked out a mini basketball, which I think he carried around the rest of the day! It was cute! After Academy, we decided to come home for a little while. Blake rode his bike, and Easton played basketball. Michael worked in the garage, and I chatted with my neighbor (She was working in her hard, planting flowers, hanging potted plants, etc..., and, I must say, she inspired me! Her flowers are beautiful, and it made me want to run out to Lowe's right then and get some for myself. I refrained, though...maybe next Saturday!). We spent the remainder of our day in Coweta with Michael's family. We went to lunch, and then the boys and I napped at Nana and Papa's house, while Michael worked outside with his dad. After our naps, we got up and fished in the ponds. No luck for me or the boys, though! Michael's dad cooked delicious steaks on the grill for us, and we had a wonderful dinner! Thank you, Mike and Diane, for a terrific dinner! We went home Saturday evening and "crashed"! We all were exhausted from our fun-filled day!
Sunday was church. Michael and I went to one of our last "Financial Peace" classes. What a wonderful class that has been, and we have learned so many tools that we have already put into practice. In just a couple of weeks, we will return to our regular Sunday school class, which we are excited about. During the second service, we worked in the preschool chapel. The teacher taught on baby Moses in the basket, and she used us to help her act it out. Who knew when we woke up yesterday morning, that we would get to put our acting skills to practice! I'm just kidding, but it was fun. Blake thought it was so cool that his mommy and daddy were in the skit! Michael played the part of Pharaoh, and I was Pharaoh's daughter who picked up baby Moses from the basket. So fun! We even got to wear crowns! Anyways, after church we came home, and I made spaghetti. Then, the boys all took naps. Sunday evening we went to church, and then Michael took us to Chili's for dinner. That is our new favorite place, because we can get all you can eat soup and salad for under $6! We absolutely love their baked potato soup, and you must try it if you haven't already! After dinner, we came home and put the boys to bed, and then Michael and I had our "budget meeting", as we call it. We usually have two a month, right before paydays, and we discuss "where our money is going". It sure does give me a peace of mind after our budget meetings, and I couldn't imagine not having them. After our meeting, Michael and I looked through the Sunday paper and then went off to bed.
What a terrific weekend, and I can hardly wait until next weekend! Maybe I'll plant some pretty flowers! It's, also, my dad's birthday, so we will have a party!
Other random thoughts:
Blake is doing so well playing t-ball. He has about six games left, and we are so proud of him. He loves playing, and it is so much fun to watch him out on the field. Imagine a whole bunch of 3 and 4 year olds going after one baseball! Can you say "dog pile"?! You've got that right. They all go after one ball at the same time. It's hilarious! Blake loves playing, but I think his favorite thing is the snack he gets after every game.
Michael set up wireless internet last weekend, and I love it. We never really had use for wireless, until my sister-in-law gave me one of her laptops a month or so ago. Thank you so much, Jen, for the cute pink laptop. We love it! Having wireless makes it so nice, because I can take the laptop anywhere the boys are in the house! It's really cute to see Michael using the pink laptop, too!
This week is a busy week for Michael. He has his end of the year Athletic Banquet on Thursday evening, and then we are chaperoning the school's Formal on Friday night. I am excited, because I will get to get dressed up and go to both events. I have an outfit for Thursday, but I still need to find a cute dress for Friday. I pray that I find a cute maternity dress, that I feel comfortable in! Why is it that all the maternity dresses right now are short? I really want a longer dress, especially because I really don't want to bear my untanned legs to everybody right now! Just being honest here!!! Well, my plan is to go shopping tomorrow evening after Michael gets off work, and I pray that the one dress is out there somewhere for me!
Please pray for Michael tonight. He has an MRI after his baseball lessons. A couple of weeks ago, he hurt his right knee pretty bad, while catching for some high school kid. He went to the doctor last week, and he scheduled Michael for an MRI. They even talked surgery, but I am believing that he will be healed and no surgery will be needed. I will certainly keep you posted.
I can hardly believe it is almost May! I am getting excited, because Michael has the entire month of June off! We want to take the boys camping, and we want to do some things around the house, such as paint, gutters, etc...We will see what all actually gets done!
Well, I better go for now. I didn't plan to type for so long! I will do my best to blog more and add some pics, too! No promises, though! Have a wonderful week and enjoy the beautiful weather.
