Catching Up

Hi, everyone! I hope you all are doing well. I haven't posted in a little while; so, I thought I would do some catching up.

Michael and the boys made my Mother's Day weekend very special. Both Saturday and Sunday were wonderful days! I started my weekend early Saturday morning by going to the salon to get some much needed color in my hair, along with a good haircut. It turned out great, and I feel so much better. After my hair appointment, we were off to the Rooster Day's parade. It was lots of fun, and it was so nice to be all together as a family. After the parade we grabbed a quick bite to eat for lunch, and then Michael took the boys fishing for the afternoon, while I went and did a little shopping at the mall. My purchases consisted of a new pair of maternity shorts at Motherhood and some pretty perfume at Victoria Secret (Thanks Mom for the VS gift card, so I could buy the perfume!). On my way home, I stopped at QT to get my new favorite drink for the time being...a Coke Freezoni! I hadn't drank Coke in months, and it tastes so good to me now! Anyways, Saturday evening we went to the Rooster Day's carnival. We had a blast, and the boys loved riding the rides! Dinner consisted of giant corn dogs, a turkey leg, and some lemonade. We, also, got some funnel cakes for dessert. Everything was so delicious, and I don't think I've ever eaten a corn dog as big as the one I ate at the carnival that night! After our fun day, the boys were exhausted; so, they fell right to sleep. Meanwhile, Michael and I stayed up and watched the movie "P.S. I Love You". It was a great ending to a great day!

On Mother's Day morning, Michael got up early to make us all breakfast before church. It was delicious, and it made me feel special. Also, Michael and the boys gave me my Mother's Day gifts at that time. They bought me a Joyce Meyer book that I have been wanting to read, as well as a Mardel gift card. It was exactly what I wanted! After church, we started our afternoon with a pizza buffet at Pizza Hut, and then we all went home and slept for several hours. It was perfect! My one request for my Mother's Day dinner was to cook hotdogs on the grill, and we did just that! After our naps, Michael and the boys worked in the yard, and I headed off the the store to buy what we needed for our little cookout. We kept it simple: hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, and some sweet tea! To top it all off, the weather was just gorgeous that evening; so, we ate outside. After the boys went to bed that night, Michael and I watched the movie "The Notebook". It was the perfect ending to a perfect Mother's Day weekend!!! Thank you, Michael, for making my day so very special. It was the absolute BEST, and I love you!

On another note, school ended for Michael last Friday afternoon; although, he will work throughout the summer. He does have lots of time off in June, though, and we are making plans to do some fun things with the boys! We would like to take the boys on their first camping trip, and we get so excited just talking about it! Michael wants to get a tent and some sleeping bags for us, and we plan to do some fishing. Most of all, we look forward to just being together as a family! We haven't decided on where we are going to go camping yet, but we are open for some ideas. Do any of you know of some good campsites in our area? If so, please tell us! We would love to hear about them! Thank you so much!

Last Thursday, I went to the doctor for another prenatal appointment. All is well, and I heard the baby's heartbeat again. We have a sonogram on June 4th, and that is when we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl; so, of course, I will make sure to post the big news! I absolutely love the stage of pregnancy I am at right now. For the most part, I have been feeling really good and have had a lot more energy. A few weeks ago, early on a Saturday morning, we felt the baby move for the first time. It was the best feeling ever. Now, as the weeks have gone by, we feel the baby move everyday (especially at night).

Well, Easton will be three on May 30th, and we are planning a fun party for him this Sunday evening. We are having the pary out at Michael's parents place, and I would love to have it outside. Please join us in praying for good weather that night. We would greatly appreciate it! I am excited for his party, because most of his relatives will be in town to help celebrate. Michael's sisters, brother, and sister-in-law are all going to be here, including my parents and two brothers and Michael's parents. Easton wanted a Veggie Tales party; so, that is what he is getting! I had the hardest time finding Veggie Tale decorations, except online. I am not a big fan of purchasing things online, so I opted to find some things here in town. Since Larry Boy is green and Bob the Tomato is red, we are doing everything in those two colors. I know, it will probably look like a big Christmas party. Oh well! I bought some Veggie Tale toys at Mardel to use for table centerpieces, and I think it will turn out so nice. We are going to have a big cookout with all the fixings and, of course, have cake and ice cream, too. It will be lots of fun!

I'm sorry I haven't posted pictures on my blog lately. For some strange reason, I cannot find the little hook-up things that connect our camera to our computer; therefore, I cannot upload any new pictures. Bummer! We are still looking, though. It's kind of weird that we can't find them, because Michael and I are fairly organized people. For now, we will continue the search!

Well, I better get going for now. The boys are napping, and I must get some laundry folded and try to sneak in a shower this afternoon. It's funny that when you become a mom, the whole shower thing gets moved way down on your list of things to do that day. Sometimes you get one in...sometimes you don't. Thank goodness for deoderant and perfume. They work wonders!

Have a marvelous day!

Amen on the shower thing!! Every now and then I get to lunchtime, and I'm not completely sure I have even brushed my teeth...so I figure a second time won't hurt:)

I didn't know you were expecting, Congratulations!

Sounds like you had a great Mother's Day, I love those days that you have no agenda but to enjoy each other.

Kevin took our older 2 boys on their first camping trip last year and they LOVED it...they roasted hotdogs and marshmellows and slept in a tent and everything. That will be such an exciting trip for you.

So great to catch up with you:)
